I apparently got stumble uponed recently, because my stats show an insane number of visitors a couple of days ago--all to one pattern in particular. Even though I'm fairly sure that most people stop with the pattern, it makes me feel guilty about not posting more.
So, again, since I last posted...
Ziti came back to Toronto after spending a loooooong time at my parents' house. He's adjusted well, likes the windows, and misses Sophie, particularly, I think, in the middle of the night when he wants to play.
I started a pair of stranded socks. Actually, I knit almost all of the first sock. And then last night I frogged it, because it's just not working for me. I learned how to avoid long runs of unknit yarn when changing colors, which was good, but the sock itself isn't quite the right fit, and I think it'd really need to be blocked to look at all good, and I... basically, it's not a pattern for someone with my gauge issues (i.e., my loose knitting).
I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for seven adults and one baby, and was thrilled to get to use my new living space to do it. I also used dishes that I inherited a couple of years ago, but which have lived at my parents since then, plus a tablecloth from... I can't remember who, but I got it this year when my mom decided to go through old linens and give them to my sister and me.
I did another experiment with coolaid dyeing, this time because I'd bought yarn that wasn't a clear enough contrast with its paired yarn in a stranded project. So, it got darker thanks to orange.
And, as a result, I was able to make two pretty cute little pairs of fish mittens for my neice and nephew when they just turned ONE. Amazing. It's been a speedy and eventful year. And fish mittens were clearly called for as a result.
